Report from the Field: Nurse.com at the diabetes educator’s show

Mary-Ellen Mullen, RN, CDEBy Chad Fife, Director
CE Marketing, Gannett Education

Nurse.com and ContinuingEducation.com went to Philadelphia Aug. 6-9 for the American Association of Diabetes Educators annual conference. Philly was a great host city and if you’re ever in town, take the time to grab lunch at the Reading Terminal Market. This bustling indoor farmer’s market has such a great vibe and variety of food, people, and culture, it’s hard to resist (our team ate there three days in a row).

One of the most memorable moments for us was when Mary-Ellen Mullen, a CDE and RN from Rhode Island Hospital in Warwick, stopped by to say how much she likes Nurse.com. Mary-Ellen told us about her experience as an Intensive CE webinar series attendee: “It was the first webinar course I’ve taken and I had such a positive experience, it’s now my preferred method of learning.” Thank you, Mary-Ellen!

Overall, we were thrilled to meet so many dietitians, nurses and pharmacists passionate about diabetes prevention and treatment. We loved discussing their continuing education needs and hot topics including obesity management, gluten intolerance, dealing with picky eaters and hypertension.

Next year’s conference is in Orlando and we’ve already booked it. See you in Florida!
